What service-access information should stay with a finished vanity?
Keep a record of the installed components, the openings used to reach them and the items that must move first. Distinguish ordinary removal of stored belongings from any cabinet or fixture work requiring the appropriate professional. The handoff should describe the finished installation, including confirmed changes made on site.
An owner may know that the plumbing is behind the left door but still be unable to explain how the space is reached when service is needed. A removable organizer may obscure the opening, a drawer may change the approach, or the final assembly may differ from an early drawing. A practical access record preserves those relationships without turning the homeowner into an installer.
Identify the installation that actually exists
Record the cabinet configuration and the selected basin, faucet and other relevant component identifiers. Keep the applicable product documents with them. Include confirmed field changes affecting the interior or access, so the service person does not begin with a drawing for a configuration that was abandoned.
Use location names that someone else can understand, such as the compartment beneath the left basin. A close photograph is useful when paired with a wider view showing where it belongs. Avoid a collection of unidentified images that requires the original owner to remember which corner or component each one shows.
Design study A closed cabinet front does not reveal the service route. Record the installed interior and movable belongings separately.
Describe the access route, not merely the component
For each service-relevant location, identify the normal opening and the interior space that leads to it. Note permanent partitions, the selected drawer arrangement and other fixed features that the responsible professional has confirmed matter to the approach. Do not present an unexplored gap as established access.
For example, the left door exposes the plumbing compartment after a personal supply caddy is taken out. The record should identify that caddy and its temporary landing place, as well as the opening behind it. Saying plumbing accessible misses the practical first step and can allow later storage changes to block the intended route.
Separate belongings from installed parts
List ordinary household items that can be moved without altering the installation: a basket, spare supplies or a removable liner, if applicable. State where they can be set down without blocking the room entrance or the service position. Restore them only after the work and any required checks are complete.
Treat drawer release, fixed-panel removal, plumbing disconnection and similar work as different actions. Ask the installer or responsible professional to identify the applicable product instructions and who should perform them. A handoff photo of an open cabinet is not permission to dismantle every part visible in it.
Preserve useful information before it becomes hidden
Where the project includes a record of concealed work, keep labeled images and the responsible party's documentation with the final installation information. Identify when the images were taken and what later work changed their meaning. A photograph before the wall closed may be valuable history, but it does not certify the present condition behind that wall.
Keep original product care and service information accessible outside the affected compartment as well. The person arranging service should be able to identify the fixture and locate its documentation without first opening or disturbing the area that needs attention. Use a household location or shared project folder that will remain available after the remodel.
Identify any storage-related preparation that can be described in advance, but let the service person define the work needed for the actual problem. A record showing a clear route to one connection does not prove that an entire fixture can be replaced through the same opening. Keep those different service purposes explicit.
Review access when the storage arrangement changes
The handoff is useful only if daily storage respects its assumptions. If a new organizer is added, check whether it occupies the recorded opening or becomes difficult to remove when loaded. Do not permanently attach an accessory in the documented route without having the effect reviewed.
A household can keep a simple note with the storage plan identifying the space and movable contents involved. This does not require leaving the entire cabinet empty. It means choosing storage that can be cleared as intended and recognizing when a later change requires a new access review.
Make the final handoff understandable to another person
Walk through the record with the installed vanity visible. Confirm the component identifiers, ordinary openings, movable belongings and any professional-only actions with the responsible party. Ask for unclear removal or access claims to be resolved through the selected product information rather than a general assurance.
Retain the current record with confirmed updates after later work. Its purpose is to help the next person identify the installation and prepare a workable service position. It does not replace diagnosis, product instructions or professional judgment about the work that is actually required.

Use a mockup to test where the proposed assembly sits, how people approach it and how selected storage is reached. Represent the relevant projections and moving fronts from the current drawings. Treat the result as a room-use comparison, with structural, plumbing and product compatibility questions still requiring their own review.
Review the selected cabinet, top, basin, faucet and connection components as a single proposed installation. Confirm their identities, check each interface and resolve the remaining conditions before relying on the combination. Separate product approvals do not by themselves establish that the assembly works together in the measured bathroom.
Record each change as a specific decision, identify every affected document and confirm the revised information with the people using it. A new cabinet drawing alone does not update the basin, top, plumbing or installation information that may already be in circulation.
The sample shows the door frame, a separate center panel, the face frame and the cabinet box. Each component has its own place in this Shaker construction.
Shaker construction: door frame, center panel, face frame and cabinet box. The cutaway helps locate these parts; confirm each material in the specifications for the selected cabinet.
01 / Door frame
The Shaker door has rails and stiles around a separate center panel. The frame and center panel are different components; confirm their materials in the specifications for the selected cabinet.
02 / Face frame
The face frame surrounds the opening at the front of the cabinet box and sits behind the doors. The face frame, door frame and cabinet box are separate parts.
03 / Cabinet box
The sample exposes the cabinet sides, interior surfaces and layered edges. The image does not establish the wood species or material specification of a selected cabinet.
